our quiet promise

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 June 2026

This is a small website, run by a real person, with a single quiet purpose — to gently keep in touch with women returning to themselves. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and how we look after it.

HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE

Every email we send includes an Unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click removes you from our list immediately — no login, no questions asked. If you can’t find an old email, simply write to hello@shehasreturned.com and we will remove you within one business day.

1. Who we are

She Has Returned is owned and operated by Mary-Ann Roche (sole trader), located at PO Box 600, Labrador, QLD 4215, Australia. Throughout this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to She Has Returned. “You” refers to any person who visits this website or subscribes to our communications.

If you have a question about your information at any time, please write to us at hello@shehasreturned.com.

2. What information we collect

We only collect a small amount of information, and only when you choose to give it to us, or when your browser shares it automatically.

Information you give us directly:

  • Your email address, when you subscribe to receive our free guide “The Return” or our weekly letters.
  • Anything you choose to write to us if you reply to one of our emails or contact us directly.

Information collected automatically when you visit:

  • Standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit.
  • Information from cookies and tracking pixels (see the Cookies section below).

3. How we use your information

We use your information for the following limited purposes:

  • To deliver our free guide “The Return” to your inbox.
  • To send you our weekly letters and occasional related messages, only if you have subscribed.
  • To understand how visitors find and use our website, so we can quietly improve it.
  • To measure the performance of our advertising on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
  • To reply to messages you send to us.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations as an Australian business.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever. We do not share it for anyone else’s marketing purposes.

4. The services we use to run She Has Returned

To run a small website and keep in touch with you, we rely on a few trusted third-party services. They each process some of your information on our behalf:

  • She Has Returned — your email address is stored securely in our own database, hosted on our own infrastructure, and used only to send you our free guide and occasional editorial letters.
  • Railway — hosts the website itself. Railway Privacy Policy.
  • ImprovMX — forwards email sent to hello@shehasreturned.com to our private inbox. ImprovMX Privacy Policy.
  • Meta Platforms (Facebook & Instagram) — we use the Meta Pixel to measure the performance of our advertising and to reach women who might be interested in our guide. Meta Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — delivers the fonts used on this site. Google Privacy Policy.

Some of these providers may store and process information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We use reputable providers and rely on their published safeguards to protect your information.

5. Cookies and tracking

This website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to function and to help us understand how it is being used. Specifically:

  • Essential cookies — required for the website to load correctly.
  • Meta Pixel — a small piece of code from Meta Platforms that records page visits and whether a visitor subscribes. We use this to understand which advertising is working and to show our advertising to women who are likely to be interested.

You can opt out of Meta’s ad personalisation through your Facebook Ad Preferences, or by using your browser’s privacy settings, an ad blocker, or a privacy-focused browser.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep your email address only for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to remove your record, your email is deleted from our database and we no longer send you messages. We may retain a record of the unsubscribe so that we don’t accidentally email you again.

Website analytics and advertising data is typically retained for up to 24 months in the platforms listed above, in accordance with their standard retention policies.

7. Your rights

Wherever you live in the world, you have the right to:

  • Unsubscribe at any time — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click is all it takes.
  • Ask what we hold — you can request a copy of the information we have about you.
  • Ask us to correct or delete your information at any time.
  • Withdraw your consent to receive marketing emails. (This is what unsubscribing does.)
  • Lodge a complaint with a privacy regulator if you believe we have mishandled your information. In Australia, this is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. In the EU or UK, this is your national data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, please write to us at hello@shehasreturned.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, and usually much sooner.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes using reputable providers with industry-standard security and using authenticated email (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC) so that no one else can send email pretending to be us. However, no system is ever completely secure. If something goes wrong, we will let you know.

9. Children

She Has Returned is written for adult women. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally to keep it accurate. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will let our subscribers know by email.

11. Contact

If you have any questions about this policy, or about any information we hold about you, please write to us. We try to reply within a few days.
